Hats off to reading! Students at Cincinnati Public Schools are joining millions of their peers across the country to celebrate the National Education Association's (NEA) Read Across America Week — with more than 45 million readers expected to pick up a book and read.
The students at Taft Elementary are celebrating it in style with a few guests invited to the school to read their favorite books throughout the week. Former FC Cincinnati player Omar Cummings will be sharing his favorite stories today from 12 - 1:30 p.m. at Taft Elementary School, 270 Southern Ave.
To get kids excited about reading and encourage more adults to spend time reading with their children, the NEA launched the first NEA's Read Across America in 1998.
When: 12 - 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 26
Where: Taft Elementary School, 270 Southern Ave.
